All aboard!!!!

See the BIG ship at Wisma Pelabuhan Sabah? (KK Old Port)
That is the US Navy’s 7th Fleet command ship, the USS Blue Ridge
They’ll be docking here in Kota Kinabalu for several days before leaving for Phillipines and Japan.
Coolness

According to the paper today, USS Blue Ridge docked in Kota Kinabalu yesterday (Saturday) for a port call. They carried with them about 5000 reading materials to be handed over to the Royal Malaysian Navy’s (RMN) Community Resource Centre in Sepanggar as part of the US Navy’s community programme - “Project Handclasp” to encourage and inculcate the reading habit among RMN personnel as well as their immediate family members.

Thanks to the Kinabalu Photography Club, and definitely my sis who is one of the club’s committee members, Julian and I were lucky to be part of the group to cover the event.

Well.. it wasn’t exactly a big event. Just a cocktail dinner party with the Sailors… but still…..*reow*

During the dinner, we were entertained with the band performance and also some singing. The food ‘looked’ awesome. But tasted… So-so. Some of them were a bit stale. But I do love the teriyaki chicken satay ('yummy'ness) and of course, Strawberries. Tralalalalala!

Met Captain Nick of Pirates of Borneo and also introduced to few Sailors. Oh! Some of the US personnel are tall and cute. Wheeee~

Kinabalu Photography Club is a new Club in Sabah and it is under the leadership of Datuk KY Mustafa (My company’s Chairman). With this club, you’ll get opportunity after opportunity to cover events especially back stage entries while practicing your photography skills.

For example, today, I was supposed to join them for another special entrance photography session of the ship, but since it was a last minute call, *sigh* unfortunately I had to reject the invitation.
But I’m glad that Julian had fun getting on board for the second time and had a brokeback experience with the sailors. LOL!

Anyhow, with KPC, you can also learn from other Sifus, meet new people and establish your connection with others.
Privilege huh?

KPC is going to have their own website/blog soon and I'll let you know when it is up. Meanwhile, if you’re interested to join, you can email me and I’ll feed you with the details. Joining fee is RM50 annually. So what are you waiting for?
