Shushi Tei - Part 2

So i went to Sushi Tei again for my 2nd trip :)
This time, i brought along my sister ^_^

During my first trip, i didn't quiet study their dessert menu..
So before browsing for the sushis, we eyed for some dessert first.
But after looking at it.. it's kinda... pricey.

Remember the fish shape red bean ice cream i talked about? It cost only around RM3 in the Korean mart in Star City =P
Soooo yeah..

Here are some of the OTHER sushis we ate.
Those which i posted before, am not gonna put it here again.

Ebiten Floss Maki - Fried Prawn with Fish Floss RM8/plate

Kani Mayo - RM2/plate (2 sushi ya :P)

Kani Corn - RM2/plate

Inari Kani Mentai Mayo - Cooked Inari, Crab Meat with Cod Roe - RM6/plate

I made a mistake... From the menu photo, i didn't know that the wrapper was the sweet egg skin and not the Seaweed wrapper. So it resulted me squirming in sweetness ><"

Takoyaki - RM6.80/plate (6 balls)

I like it :) Not bad at all.

Sunrise Roll (or was it Sunshine roll?) - Amaebi with head, cucumber, salmon, mango, sweet sauce, mayo, aunori and white sesame = RM24.80 (around 8 pcs if i'm not mistaken)

When we browse the menu for more sushi, look at what i found that made my eyes almost popped out o.0"

OMG! RM42 for 2 pcs!!! No way in the world i'll order that seriously o.O""""

Now here comes the dessert...

We ordered 3 ice cream flavours for each one of us.
Nadia ordered Green Tea (Matcha)
I ordered Shio Ice Cream (the waiter said that it's a favourite)
BB ordered Goma Ice Cream (black sesame seed?)

The taste was..... hrmm... how can i explain this...
Basically it takes some getting used to.
The green tea was lack of ummph..
The Shio Ice Cream which was claimed to be a favourite turns out OMFG so sweeeet i almost die.
The Goma Ice Cream on the other hand tasted... almost bitter.
So in the end, BB took Nadia's Green Tea, Nadia took my Shio flavour and I took BB's Goma flavour =D

Total paid was about RM190++ for 3 person.
All I can say is, you pay for what you eat.
The portion is big and it fills you up really :)

So go and try it and let me know what you think ok?

After our late lunch, we headed off to 1B for shopping =D
Oh! Saw a Lion Rabbit being displayed at the centre atrium. SOOO CUTEEE!!!!

BB and I decided to buy one when we move into our apartment next year.
Can't wait!!! ^_^

Before i end this post, i'd like to wish a HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR to all of my friends who's celebrating it.
I'm gonna have my first Chinese New Year Eve dinner with BB's family this year wehooo~
See ya peeps! Muaks!
.

Shushi Tei, Kota Kinabalu

Ahhh~ What a productive week :)
I've done with most of my work, picked up new skills and decided to take up new 'challenge' even when its future is quiet blurry at the moment =D
I'm still in the middle of finalising some details and cross finger, i could finish all of it by 1st week of CNY :) *good luck to me!*

Anyways, BB and I planned to go for a friday night movie...
But since we were late due to pre-CNY traffic jam (PM was at Deasoka earlier), we decided to try the newly opened Sushi Tei Japanese Restaurant in Suria Sabah instead ^^

Here are the food that we walloped!

First up, Volcano Roll (Unagi and Cucumber with Cream Cheese) RM8/plate.
Omg the cheese was THE bomb! I'm in love~~~~~

Next is Dai-Dai Roll (Crab Meat, Salmon and Mango Sushi Roll) RM15.80

Third was the Soft Shell Crab Maki @ RM6/plate

Next, Chicken Katsu Don (Chicken Cutlet topped with Egg on Rice) RM13.80

Fifth, the Mini Golden Roll (Mango Prawn Sushi Roll) RM15.80

Lastly, Salmon Mantai RM6.00

It's half cooked salmon topped with cheese. Tasted tad salty but i still like it ^_^

As usual, Ocha is provided too :)

Other menus are as below. Please click to view larger image.

I didn't snapped all pages though. But i can assure you, they have A LOT of choices!
They have a quite nice dessert selection too e.g. Red bean paste vanilla ice cream in Fish shape (just like how Rina loves to eat), different type of daifuku and much more!
I'll try to snap more photos on my next visit.
Was too full earlier and i don't want to ruin my diet :P

Overall, i give this restaurant a 4/5 :)
If the price is around Sushi Zanmai range, i would give it full star =D
Nonetheless, it's definitely worth the try.
I love their variety of menu and service too!
Will visit again with my baby sis this Sunday.

For those of you who don't know what Twestival is, well you can check out the info here.

Twestival (Twitter Festival) is basically a charity event happening once a year, on the same date in over 200 cities around the world. Quoting from the site:

"A Twestival (or Twitter-Festival) is a single day, global movement which uses the power of social media to organize offline events that mobilize communities in support of a local cause. Twestival was born out of the idea that if communities were able to collaborate on an international scale, but working from a local level, it could have a spectacular impact.

Since 2009, over 200 cities have participated in Twestival, raising close to $1.2 million for important causes like clean water and education. Twestival Local events are coordinated 100% by volunteers and 100% of the funds raised through ticket sales and donations go directly to support charitable projects."

So guys, mark your calendar on the 24th March 2011 (Thursday) at Origin Cafe, Karamunsing Capital.
Details on ticket price, time and program will be announced soon.
So bookmark KK Twestival today and follow our tweet-tweet =P (@kktwestival)

The day that I'm officially engaged :)

Right after both BB and I agreed on getting engaged somewhere in November 2010, I had been planning on a lot of things since :)
How the deco would be...
The theme colour and ambiance that we should go for...
The pelamin, the hantaran gifts and much more...
this is one of the things I love about Malay culture :)

After going through lots and lots of theme, i couldn't settle for one coz most of them are suppose to be saved for my actual wedding day...
I was very indecisive then UNTIL i watched Rapunzel :)

Remember this scene? :)
the beautiful lantern and all?
I was awed by it and that was when I said 'THAT'S IT!'

So i decided on light yellow and pink theme with lots and lots of lanterns for my engagement!!!
It's perfect for night event! Weeeeeeee~~~~ ^_^

On the day before my engagement, all of my family were busy making sure that everything was ok and nothing was left behind.
Rini from UrWeddingStory also helped to complete my Pelamin just as how i requested before we had a family dinner with BB's mom at night.

Oh! Just so you know, my parents have not met BB's mom before :)
So since this is the first time for BB's mom as well, we figured it would be better to meet up and explained to Aunty Adeline how the ceremony will go on the next day.

After few hours of sleep, 15th January 2011 finally arrived.
Instead of getting worried about what's going to happen later at night, Nadia and I were busy watching anime after we had our breakfast XD

At about 3.30pm, Beverly, my dear friend from Muah Studio arrived to do my make up and hair.
I trusted her style as she had been doing my make up since 3 years back. *She's also recently married! (Congrats again dear!)*

It took about 2.5 hours to get my make up and hair done because of the bad lighting in my room =_= (must fix that room one day)
After she finished with my make up, I have to say that i was shocked by the dark foundation used on my face.
Initially i felt like a red indian buahahaha.
But silly me... i must put more trust on her next time.
Coz the make up that she did made me look so pweeeeettyyyy~~~ XD *coughs*
Best is, there was never a white splat of powder on my face when the camera flashes on me wohoo!

All the 9 ladies in the picture above are my maid of honours aka bridesmaid aka tukang angkat hantaran aka my dear friends and family :)
I felt honoured to receive their help. Love you girls to bits!

In front of us were the hantaran from my side to BB.
The hantaran was agreed on 9 trays from the guy side, and 11 from my side.
This is what i got for BB...

PS: All Hantaran deco made by Rini from UrWeddingStory too!

Sirih Junjung (Traditional Malay Gift)

Al Quran Tafsir and Sejadah

Nasi Tomato (Made by my grandma)

Ayam Masak German (Made by my grandma too *slurpp*)

Cupido and Cupipi cake *our anak! lol!* (Made by Boutique Cupcakes)

A Watch

Baju Melayu (We're gonna wear it for Raya 2011 ^_^)

An Iphone 4 (He's VERY HAPPY to receive this)

Perfume Set

Wallet and Belt

Baju persalinan

Ok o not? =D
I love love love the Cupido and Cupipi cake made by my Boutique Cupcakes team! (Thank you guyssss!!! )
I also requested Rini to use my favourite flower (Carnations) with Daisy in light yellow and pink to decorate the dulang hantaran.
The sweet colour combination and fresh flowers made it look so sweet!!!

Anyways, back to the engagement party...

Our nightmare of the day came true when rain poured down heavily few hours before the event started.
The tables and chairs were soaking wet and poor mama and papa had to move the chair slightly in before it became worse.
Alhamdulillah, when Julian and his troops (The Man in Red) arrived at about 7.15pm, the weather tamed down a bit (still raining unfortunately).
Umbrellas were limited, and Agus had to assist them one by one to go into the house safely.

As soon as all the hantaran from the guy side had been arranged, guests were ushered into the house and the discussion started at about 7.30pm-7.45pm.

Uncle Harun represented BB's dad.
Indirectly in this case, he is acting as BB's malay god father :)
Pantun was given (we were quiet surprised he prepared that) and questions were asked for my dad to answer/announce to those presented in regards to our upcoming wedding day.
He got my name wrong initially :P Instead of ending my name with 'Nina', he pronounced it as 'Hana' (my other sister's name lol!)

My dad on the other hand suddenly got the wedding date wrong when we told him many times beforehand XD
The whole situation was funny that i 'lol' in my heart while sitting upstairs, waiting for my turn to go down.

When the discussion had ended, my name was called and it was time for me to go down.
In my heart, i prayed that i won't trip and i kept reminding my self to walk as lady like as possible :P <-- *budak ganas*

You know what theme song ran through my head that time?
*Cue the opening of the old Micro Genius 'Kung Fu' game* buahahahaha!

*coughs*
With the help of my sis, i reached the pelamin safely =D

Having yourself sitting a platform higher than the rest was really AWKWAAAAARD~~~~ XD
"keep on smiling~~~ keep on smiling~~~", i thought to myself as flashes of camera being pointed at me =D

While waiting, i saw all the hantaran from both sides arranged nicely in front of the pelamin.
I was excited to see the 9 gifts brought by BB's side.

Tepak Sirih

Al-Quran Tafsir and Sejadah

Telekung and head scarf

Engagement Ring

Baju Raya from RJ Couture

Benefit Cosmetics

Dinner Set with custom made F&J Necklace

Camera

Xbox 360 with Kinect

Weeee~~~ I can't wait to play Dance Central with my new Xbox!!! =D
Did you notice that most of the gifts are gadgets?
I HAD to include the cosmetics and dinner accessories in my wish list else people might confuse as to whom the gifts are actually for.. me or Julian lol!!!

Anyhow, once the final discussion had finished, my sis Cici guided Aunty Adeline by giving her my ring.
With a smile, aunty said to me, "I would like you to become my daughter"...
I was deeply touched by her word and i held out my hand for her to put the ring to my ring finger :)

Once the whole ceremony had done, all guests were invited and ushered outside for dinner.

Oh! Talking about dinner, i will never EVER get Sri Pinang as my caterer anymore >:(
This was THE FIRST TIME in my family's experience that the food on the RESERVED table was cold!
They forgot to lit up the candle to keep the food warm, the laksa didn't have any bumbu ikan for its topping (what kind of a laksa is that???).. and worst is, the drinks were not enough!
I was VERY disappointed!
It was different now that Sabri was not around to monitor.
The new minions were bad, kept goofing around and the manager that we liaise with didn't have the courtesy to show up / to monitor his staffs!
Heck even before the event, he was so slow at replying our smses and phone calls =_="

The only food that made me happy that night was the cupcake i ordered from Boutique Cupcakes which looked beautiful just as how i wanted them to be and of course, the kuehs made by my grandma.

Unfortunately i didn't get to taste all of em *sobs*
Oh well, that's how it is if you are the host :)
Lesson is, always keep some for yourself and save it for later =D

I'm loving the deco too! Made me smile all night!
